Sacramento, Nov. 17 – At their fall meeting, the California Wildlife Conservation Board, in concert with the Trust for Public Lands, voted unanimously to acquire the 528-acre Yuba Narrows Ranch, ensuring that this significant property, with almost two miles of critical salmon spawning habitat along the Yuba River and Deer Creek and rich blue oak woodlands, will be permanently protected as open space. Following acquisition in 2011, it is anticipated that the Ranch will be managed by the Department of Fish and Game, and that portions of it will be made accessible to the public.
