From the 1860’s until World War II, Smartsville was a bustling mining town serving the great hydraulic operations along the Yuba River. Though the population has dwindled since the closing of the mines, Smartsville is on the verge of rediscovery, as the gateway to some of California’s greatest natural and historic treasures.
