Mining artifacts and breathtaking river views
Above the Narrows, in summer 2007, we discovered a major mining era-ditch built to carry water for hydraulic mining at Rose Bar. The next spring, we cleared a trail along the old ditch and down to the Yuba River. This trail, which features gold-rush era artifacts and breathtaking views of the Yuba River and Englebright Reservoir, is expected to be opened to the public in the spring of 2014, following construction of a parking lot and trailhead off of Mooney Flat Road by the Bear Yuba Land Trust.
